Garmendia is produced in the northwest of Spain area Castilla y León from 100% organic Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes at a winery renowned for its ecological approach to farming and viticluture. Finca Santa Rosalia produces only 5,000 bottles a year. It is aged for 16 months in a combination of French and American oak barricas, with a further year in bottle. Garmendia has ample time to develop a rich complexity. A deep richness of dark and red fruits, vanilla and licorice abounds on the nose and palate, with a long smooth finish.
This is an ideal match for those summer barbecues, rich meaty pasta dishes and, of course, a nice lean steak.
